Modular Building Floor Capabilities

SPS offers two types of floors. One floor is a fully insulated modular floor made out of FRP and the other is a steel skid type base. Modular floors are used in place of our standard J-Track type base. Standard J-Track type bases would be used on a cement pad or flat installation.

The FRP modular floor is a large vacuum formed panel with a polyurethane foam insulation core (from 2" to 4"). Standard floors can be made in polyester isothalic (General Purpose) or epoxy vinyl ester (Dow Derakane) resin. All FRP floors come standard with a UV block gel-coat exterior finish.

The Epoxy coated steel base is manufactured using welded tube and steel channel with flat plate welded to the top of the steel.

The modular floor would be used where a grade level installation is required with little or no preparation in the field. All modular floors come with a non-skid surface as a standard safety feature. Floors can have drains built into the mold which would allow a connection to the finished part on the underside of the floor. Floors are manufactured the same as our modular panels with re-enforcement of the fiberglass.

*Note - When a modular building with lifting eyes is purchased along with a floor, S.S. lifting plates and couplings are required on the under side of the floor to provide enough support when the building is being lifted into place. These plates also allow the building to be fastened to grade if desired.
