Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic Coating

SPS offers a chemical/puncture resistant coating for any of the standard or custom enclosures which are supplied with insulation. In our RTM enclosures Derakane Vinyl Ester resin is used with multiple layers of matte to fully encapsulate the standard foil insulation, as shown below. The standard finish of the inside of an FRP'd enclosure is a smooth, grey finish. Advantages to using the FRP coating is that all bulkhead entry and exit points will be fully encapsulated, therefore leaving no foam exposed to the environment. In most cases the reason the foam deteriorates is due to the foam being exposed to atmosphere. Any bulkhead shape or size can be accommodated in the FRP style enclosures, which adds versatility when field installing.
